This installation was a culmination of my 'Safety, Support or Suffocation?' photography series where I attempted demonstrate some of the confusion, contradictions and subsequent damage caused by the restrictions imposed on the disability community during the first lockdown. 'Communicating ‘Fine’ is a video-based work created during the second lockdown this year. It is part of an ongoing endeavour into how to communicate what it's like living with chronic pain, disability, depression and anxiety, particularly during lockdowns and isolation.

The Shibari and special effects make up, contribute to illustrating some of the paradox and contradiction involved in comfort versus restriction, safety versus suffocation and the intimacy involved in pain and pleasure.
